Summary: Silaro is designed with privacy in mind. Your collection data is stored locally on your device by default. Cloud sync and AI features are optional and require your consent. We don't sell your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information (Optional)
When you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, a unique User ID is created for your account. Your name, email, and profile picture are provided by the sign-in provider but are only stored locally on your device for display purposes. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Sign-in is completely optional. You can use Silaro without creating an account.
1.2 Collection Data
Information about your fragrance preferences:
- Perfumes in your collection
- Custom perfumes you create
- Wishlists and favorites
- Personal preferences and settings
1.3 Usage Data
Anonymous analytics to improve the app:
- App usage patterns and feature interactions
- Search queries (anonymized)
- Error logs and crash reports
- Device information (model, OS version)
1.4 Location Data
With your permission, we collect your approximate location to provide weather-based fragrance recommendations. Location data is only used for this purpose and is not stored permanently.
1.5 Advertising
For users who consent to personalized advertising:
- An advertising identifier used by your device
- Ad interaction data
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide Core Features: Manage your collection, search fragrances, create wishlists
- AI Recommendations: Analyze your preferences to suggest new fragrances (Premium)
- Weather Integration: Provide weather-appropriate fragrance suggestions
- Cloud Sync: Backup and sync your data across devices (optional)
- Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features
- Display Advertising: Show relevant ads to free users
- Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and troubleshoot issues
3. Third-Party Services
To provide our features, we work with trusted third-party services for the following purposes:
- Sign-in & Cloud Sync: To let you create an account and sync your collection across devices
- AI Recommendations: To power personalized fragrance suggestions (your data is sent anonymized)
- Subscription Management: To manage your Premium subscription through Apple/Google
- Weather Data: To provide weather-appropriate fragrance recommendations
- Advertising: To show ads to free users (you can opt out of personalized ads)
- Analytics & Error Reporting: To improve the app and fix issues (anonymous data only)
All data shared with these services is limited to what is necessary for each purpose. We do not sell your data to any third party.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
By default, your data is stored locally on your device. It never leaves your phone unless you enable cloud sync.
4.2 Cloud Storage
If you enable cloud sync:
- Your data is encrypted during transfer
- Stored securely on Google Cloud servers
- Protected by industry-standard security measures
4.3 Data Retention
- Account Data: Kept while your account is active
- Analytics Data: Kept for up to 26 months
- Error Reports: Kept for 90 days
- Local Data: Kept until you delete the app
5. Advertising
Free users see advertisements. You have choices:
- Personalized Ads: Tailored to your interests (requires consent)
- Non-Personalized Ads: Generic ads if you decline tracking
- Ad-Free Experience: Available with Premium subscription
App Tracking Transparency: On iOS, we request your permission before tracking your activity across other apps. You can change this anytime in Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update inaccurate information
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
- Portability: Export your collection data
- Opt-Out: Decline personalized advertising
- Withdraw Consent: Revoke any permissions you've granted
For California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information.
For European Residents (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. Our legal basis for processing is consent and legitimate interest.

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data may be shared only:

8. Children's Privacy
Silaro is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through:
- In-app notifications
- Email (if you're registered)
- Updating the "Last Updated" date above
